The ancient battles are long over, and the swords have been laid down, but our advantage in building tracks, as with the historical battles with swords, is in the tradition of using superior quality steel and the knowledge of heat treatment, that has been passed down through the generations. 

Within the Dumfries factory, huge figures with bushy ginger beards and black-out welding masks communicate in a gruff language, indecipherable to anyone not from Scotland.
